Biometric identification by photo

Register a few clear photos of your pet’s face. Later, a new photo can be compared with them to help confirm it is the same animal, for example if you find it after it got lost.

Register the identification

1. Open My Pets, choose the pet and tap Pet ID.
2. Under Biometric identification, tap Register identification and take the photo.
3. Add more with Add another photo: the more good photos, the better the comparison.

How to take the photo: face from the front, filling the frame, from about 30 cm; eyes open and nose visible, with no hands or toys in front; good light.

Verify with a photo

Tap Verify with a photo. You will see the similarity percentage and one of these results: It looks like the same pet, Not sure or It does not look like the same pet. If you get Not sure, try a closer photo with better light.

Caution

Similarity is estimated by an image model. It supports identification but does not prove it: it does not replace a microchip.

To delete the registered photos, tap Remove identification.
